Looking through my photographs
One picture caught my eye
A young girl standing by a tree
With a smile that made me sigh
That was the Christmas that I got
The red bike of my dreams
I'd underlined that on my list
A thousand times it seems
I didn't really think I'd find
My deepest wish fulfilled
I'd crossed my fingers and hoped so hard
When I saw it my heart stood still!
It had every bell and whistle
A little girl could want
And velvet ribbon was tied around
The handle bars so taut
Yes, that was me some years ago
When a dream I had came true
And the little girl still hopes so hard
For another wish or two
Sweet memories are much better shared
It helps to make them last
Thanks for taking time to walk with me
On a journey through Christmas past
